> Benefits
The main function of chelating agents is to deliver micronutrients to the plant.
However, they also have other important benefits, like resistance to micro-organisms. Furthermore they considerably increase the solubility of micronutrients, facilitating their transport to the root surface and ensuring their ready availability even in lime-rich alkaline soils. Absorption by the plant is easier and swifter, resulting in rapid recovery from deficiencies. Additionally since nearly all of the micronutrients administered are absorbed, lower dosages are needed compared to inorganic salts.
